About Skills Community of Practice

The Skills Community of Practice is an informal forum to share approaches to teaching undergraduate skills with colleagues across institutes. Each month, there will be a presentation from a member about their approach to teaching a specific skill or skillset, followed by some whole group comments/discussion. Sometimes, this will be followed by smaller group discussion to facilitate networking and deeper conversations about undergraduate skills.

The range of skills of interest to this CoP is quite broad, as although some skills are unarguably vital to teach our students, others are not traditionally covered by a degree but are becoming increasingly important. The teaching of both of these groups of skills is worth discussing, in recognition of the needs of each generation of students.
